What lip filler is for
The lips have a natural shape, and that shape can be refined. Some lips are thin and would be improved by a measure of fullness. Some have lost a little volume or definition with time. Some are slightly uneven, one side fuller than the other, or have a border that has softened. Lip filler addresses concerns of this kind — not by transforming the lips into something they are not, but by refining the shape they already have.
The filler itself is a gel that adds a small, controlled measure of volume where it is placed, restoring fullness, sharpening definition, or balancing one side against the other. A natural philosophy, stated plainly
Dr. Vladimir’s approach to lip filler rests on a single, clearly held principle: a natural result, with no overfilling. The aim is lips that look like the patient’s own lips, at their best — refined in shape, balanced, with definition restored — not lips that announce they have been filled. The overfilled look is not a stronger version of a good result; it is a different and worse one, and it is deliberately avoided.
Two further points define the approach honestly. The first: the lips are the only area treated. Dr. Vladimir does not offer dermal filler for other parts of the face — facial volume, where it is needed, is restored surgically with the patient’s own fat, addressed on the Facial Fat Transfer page. The second: lip filler is offered in measured amounts, building gradually rather than overfilling in a single session, because a natural result is far easier to achieve, and to keep, when the lips are refined conservatively.

The treatment itself is brief. The filler is placed through small injections, precisely positioned to achieve the agreed refinement, and the lips are shaped with care as it is placed. Because the approach is measured, a conservative result can be built upon at a later session if the patient wishes — refining gradually toward the result, rather than overfilling and then correcting.
What to expect, and how long it lasts
Some swelling of the lips is normal in the first days after treatment, and the lips may look fuller initially than they will once that settles. The true result becomes clear as the swelling resolves over the following days, revealing the refined, balanced shape.
The result is temporary, as all hyaluronic acid filler is. It lasts a number of months — for most patients in the range of six to eight months — and then gradually fades as the filler is naturally absorbed. To maintain the result, treatment is repeated on a considered schedule. Many patients find the gradual fade a useful feature: it allows the result to be reviewed and, if wished, adjusted each time.
