The foundation
Fundación Hadar is a nonprofit foundation established by Dr. Vladimir Ramírez-Blanco in 2015. Its purpose is straightforward: to make reconstructive surgical care accessible to vulnerable patients in the region — those for whom the surgery they need would otherwise be out of reach.
Reconstructive surgery restores function and form that injury, illness, or a congenital condition has taken away. It is, for the patient who needs it, not an elective matter but a necessary one — and yet for many it is inaccessible, a question of cost or circumstance rather than need. Fundación Hadar exists to close that gap, and it has done so since 2015.

Why it exists
The work of a surgeon and the work of a foundation come from the same place. The skill that restores a hand or repairs a difficult wound is the same whether the patient can pay for it or not — and Dr. Vladimir founded Hadar on the conviction that this skill should not be available only to those with the means to reach it.
Fundación Hadar is the expression of that conviction. It allows reconstructive care to be given on the basis of need, to patients in vulnerable circumstances for whom it would otherwise remain out of reach. It is a deliberate and ongoing part of how Dr. Vladimir practices — not separate from the work at Blackstones, but a continuation of the same commitment, extended to those who need it most.

Through Fundación Hadar, the reconstructive surgical care that restores function and form is extended to patients who would otherwise have no path to it. It is the same standard of care that defines the rest of Dr. Vladimir’s work — the same training, the same judgement, the same commitment to a safe and considered result — given to those whose circumstances would otherwise place it beyond reach.
For Dr. Vladimir, this is not a separate or occasional endeavour. It has been a continuous part of his practice since 2015, and it reflects a view of what a surgeon’s skill is for: that it is most fully realized when it reaches the patient who needs it, regardless of whether that patient could otherwise have found their way to it.

La Fundación Hadar es una fundación sin fines de lucro establecida por el Dr. Vladimir Ramírez-Blanco en 2015. Su propósito es sencillo: hacer que la atención quirúrgica reconstructiva sea accesible para pacientes vulnerables de la región —aquellos para quienes la cirugía que necesitan de otro modo estaría fuera de su alcance—.
La cirugía reconstructiva restaura la función y la forma que una lesión, una enfermedad o una afección congénita ha quitado. Es, para el paciente que la necesita, no un asunto electivo sino uno necesario —y sin embargo para muchos es inaccesible, una cuestión de costo o de circunstancia en lugar de necesidad—. La Fundación Hadar existe para cerrar esa brecha, y lo ha hecho desde 2015.

Por qué existe
El trabajo de un cirujano y el trabajo de una fundación vienen del mismo lugar.
